The mission of Iam Natural is to bring Natural African Skin Care, Handmade Products and other African Inspired items to the U.S market and to educate people of its benefits.
Today, Africa is considered the poorest continent on Earth. Seventy-seven percent of Africans live on less than $2 per day, and women and children make up the majority of this number.
As it has always been, Africa is a place of abundant natural resources. However, we must take care that the monetary benefits actually reach the women, men and children in small villages across West and central Africa who are ultimately responsible for bringing their rich natural resources/ tradtional handmade products to the rest of the world. For Instance shea butter is a uniquely African resource (shea trees are native to West and Central Africa and grow wild throughout the wooded savanna), for the most part Africans are not benefiting financially from its trade. There is great potential for unfair exploitation of this natural resource; our goal is to raise awareness about fair trade and sell only fair trade items from Africa.
Iam Natural has chosen to promote some indigenous African natural resources and handmade products that are culturally, economically and ecologically sustainable.
